Passive Solar Home
An interior adobe wall across a hallway from a south-facing bank of windows captures and holds the winter sun’s heat. An exterior overhang blocks the summer sun. The window wall also affords a panoramic view of the owners’ forthcoming xeriscape garden. Other green features include a high-efficiency boiler and double-framed walls in the great room with insulation rated R41 (R49 in the ceiling).

"The design of the house is aesthetically pleasing, distinctive, and attuned to the practical needs of a space in which to live. It is well built. We plan never to build another house, but, if we did, we would hire Praxis to build it."
