An interior adobe wall across a hallway from a south-facing bank of windows captures and holds the winter sun’s heat. An exterior overhang blocks the summer sun. The window wall also affords a panoramic view of the owners’ forthcoming xeriscape garden. Other green features include a high-efficiency boiler and double-framed walls in the great room with insulation rated R41 (R49 in the ceiling).
