A passageway lined with historic but decidedly derelict shops and artist studios was transformed into a vital and profitable Canyon Road retail corridor. Craftsmen possessing traditional skills were called upon to help restore structures built as long ago as a century or more. What could not be saved was replaced with new, including all electrical, plumbing and mechanical systems.
